Hystandard hero helps lift the load for Aussies with cancer
As part of a forklift and materials handling company which is a veteran in the Australian market, Hystandard Handling Equipment’s skilled team is well and truly accustomed to helping their clients lift heavy loads.
So it’s really no wonder that Hystandard Managing Director, John Flinn is hitting the road on his motorcycle to ride over 15,000km to help ease the burden for Australians with cancer.
John and his mate Andrew Brown from Toll Intermodal have planned their bum-numbing ride around Australia in a bid to raise money for cancer services and also raise cancer awareness. The two mates have organised the event with the assistance of the NSW Cancer Council office and donations will go to the Cancer Council Australia to assist cancer patients around the country.
Their epic journey will start on Sunday May 5th at Fremantle’s historic Chamber of Commerce building, the oldest chamber of commerce in Australia, with the pair planning to finish back there on Wednesday June 5th .
"We would like to issue a challenge to all companies around Australia to get together and help us to raise money for this very worthy cause,” John said.
“Many technicians, drivers and sales people in our industry are at risk from skin cancer from too much exposure to the sun, so it’s a cause that touches all the companies in our field and we hope they will all get behind this good cause.“
Sponsors can have their logos on John and Andrew’s bikes and/or clothes for the entire trip and all companies are encouraged to participate and support this great endeavour.
John and Andrew are very generously covering all the expenses of their trip, while Hystandard’s materials handling supplier, NACCO Materials Handling Group (NMHG), will donate $5,000 to the Cancer Council.
“Providing a donation of $5000 to assist John and Andrew for such as worthwhile cause was an easy choice. This is an amazing challenge and one that we are very proud to support,“ NMHG Marketing Manager, Haley Daw said.
If your company would like to join in this great event, support this important cause and sponsor the ride, please phone Rita on 02 9672 1026 to arrange to have your logo featured on the bikes or riders.
