Yale debuts automated lift truck with vertical pallet positioning capability

NEW MODEL ENABLES END-TO-END AUTOMATION OF HORIZONTAL TRANSPORTATION TASKS THAT INVOLVE PICKING AND PLACING LOADS ON ELEVATED SURFACES

GREENVILLE, N.C. (April 13, 2026) – Yale Lift Truck Technologies unveils the latest addition to its Yale Relay automated lift truck platform, the counterbalanced stacker, capable of handling loads up to 3,300 pounds and reaching lift heights of approximately 13 feet. This model enables warehouses to automate put away and retrieval tasks in stage lanes, from conveyors and even in some low- to mid-level racking applications with minimal infrastructure or workflow changes.

“The automated counterbalanced stacker continues our commitment to bringing the benefits of automation to more warehouse operations,” says Kyle Smart, Sales Manager – Automation, Yale Lift Truck Technologies. “From conveyor picking and putaway to picking up pallets from stretch wrappers, the truck’s vertical capability enables a wide range of common workflows to be automated and unlocks additional labor savings for warehouses.”

The truck is powered by the Yale Relay automated lift truck portal, which debuted with the automated tow tractor model at ProMat 2025. The introduction of the counterbalanced stacker brings enhancements to the portal that enable users to create configurable pallet placements and manage pallet locations without the requirement of WMS integration. However, for those looking to maximize throughput via WMS or PLC connectivity, the portal will support those capabilities.

Yale Relay is the result of almost a decade of customer-driven refinement and is engineered to address common complexity and cost challenges that have previously prevented warehouses from automating their lift truck fleet. Rather than requiring extensive on-site software coding and long, drawn-out engineering studies, Yale Relay enables implementation in as little as one day with a drag-and-drop portal that allows users to map the facility by simply manually operating the truck along the desired route and setting waypoints. Those waypoints can then be dragged and dropped within the portal to adjust existing routes or create new ones – no software engineering required. A rental model is also available, which rolls all costs into a single monthly fee, allowing warehouses to get automation up and running without a major, upfront capital investment.

Visitors to the MODEX trade show in Atlanta, April 13-16, can see the automated counterbalanced stacker and the Yale Relay lift truck automation portal at booth B13732.
