GREENVILLE, N.C (Dec. 17, 2025) – Yale Lift Truck Technologiesannounces that the company’s revolutionary direct-store-delivery system is the winner of a Reader’s Choice Product of the Year award, as determined by readers of Material Handling Product News and MaterialHandling247.com. The solution features a pallet truck and a detachable, nested sled, removing the need for drivers to haul two pieces of equipment between the delivery trailer and storefront.
Drivers can take the full solution from the trailer to the store, then simply detach the nested sled from the larger pallet truck to take advantage of its small footprint, designed for use in tight retail spaces. The motorized sled provides an ergonomic power assist to reduce manual strain when navigating inclines or traversing thresholds, and can raise the load platform during restocking to reduce bending and lifting. The workflow efficiencies can reduce manual material handling by up to 50%, allowing drivers to finish their route early or make an additional stop.
“The direct-store delivery process traditionally involves a delivery driver unloading pallets using a standard pallet jack, bringing them to the front of a store, walking back to the trailer to retrieve a sled and loading merchandise onto that. The system is available with lightweight, low-profile matching pallets. These pallets can be tightly stacked to save space in delivery trailers and help to maximize the maneuverability benefits of the sled’s small footprint in narrow store aisles.
