GREENVILLE, N.C. (April 7, 2026) – Yale Lift Truck Technologies announces its selection as one of 2026’s most innovative logistics companies by Fast Company magazine, marking the second straight year the company made the list. Yale was honored for addressing major warehouse and logistics challenges through high-impact innovations, including the drag-and-drop Yale Relay automated lift truck portal and the two-in-one Yale Route Runnerä direct-store-delivery solution.
“Modern warehouses are facing unprecedented challenges – a yearslong labor shortage, fast order fulfillment demands, increased SKU variety and more. But addressing these challenges requires more than the status quo – it requires targeted innovation, tailored to these operations’ everyday realities,” says Brad Long, Manager, Global Brand Strategy and Governance, Yale Lift Truck Technologies. “Recognition by Fast Company in back-to-back years is a testament to the strength of our customer-driven approach and our team’s track record of bringing practical innovations to market, from base lift trucks to specialized solutions and advanced technologies.”
Yale’s customer-driven focus extends to delivering solutions in a way that addresses common barriers to technology adoption. A prime example is the Yale Relay automated lift truck portal, which addresses major cost and complexity barriers that have typically prevented warehouses from automating their lift truck fleet. The intuitive portal enables easy setup and on-the-fly changes without the need for custom coding, allowing warehouses to reduce their dependence on scarce warehouse labor without turning to expensive software engineers. Warehouses can also take advantage of a rental model that rolls all costs into a single monthly fee instead of requiring a large upfront investment.
The Yale Route Runner solution is the result of a deep, methodical breakdown of a common delivery process, and engineering a new solution to enable greater process and labor efficiency. Route Runner removes the need for beverage delivery drivers to haul both a pallet truck and a sled through a parking lot, then transfer product from the pallet truck to the sled. Instead, the smaller sled nests inside the pallet truck, allowing drivers to detach the sled at the front of the store and take advantage of the smaller footprint to maneuver inside tight retail environments. Over a nine-stop shift, estimates show this process change can add up to drivers lifting 27,000 fewer pounds, taking 1,980 fewer steps and saving 63 minutes per route.
Yale’s customer-driven design process guides all technology innovation, starting with engineers interviewing and observing lift truck operators and warehouse managers to provide a thorough understanding of day-to-day processes and challenges. The company fosters collaboration between internal industry-focused teams, technology specialists and outside experts to translate that feedback into functional equipment features with ergonomic, safety and productivity benefits.
