Yale Lift Truck Technologies cemented its position as a leader in warehouse solutions at the recently concluded LogiMAT 2024 show held in Stuttgart, Germany. The Yale team showcased a dynamic display, packed with cutting-edge technologies designed to optimise warehouse operations.
Outsmarting warehouse challenges
The theme for the Yale booth was "Outsmart Your Biggest Warehouse Challenges," and the centrepiece of the exhibit was the much-anticipated European premiere of the Yale Reliant operator assistance system (OAS). This award-winning suite of technologies, already a success in the USA with over 5,000 units deployed, offers a comprehensive approach to warehouse safety and efficiency.
Witnessing Yale Reliant in action
Visitors to the Yale experience area got a firsthand look at Yale Reliant in action. Live demonstrations showcased this innovative system's real-time monitoring capabilities, keeping a watchful eye on people, trucks, and loads. By proactively identifying potential hazards, Yale Reliant empowers operators to avoid potential accidents and mishaps while reinforcing proper operation established during training.
At LogiMAT 2024, Yale Reliant’s powerful combination of features were put on show for everyone to see. Demonstrations included how Yale Reliant carefully adjusts lift truck performance based on real-time conditions and prevents operators from lifting unstable loads beyond a certain height.
One of the features demonstrated at LogiMAT 2024 was Adaptive Speed Control, whereby Yale Reliant will reduce the maximum speed of a lift truck based on its steering input. In addition, this system can be used, in conjunction with proximity detection or LIDAR technology, also on display at LogiMAT, to slow lift trucks when they are close to other trucks and pedestrians or encounter an obstacle.
A customisable solution for diverse needs
As explained on the stand, the beauty of Yale Reliant lies in the ability for warehouses operations to customise the system. For instance, a warehouse may use the system to control equipment speed in order to maintain a specific following distance between equipment. If required, location-based rules can also be set. For example, limiting travel speed at the end of aisles or excluding certain equipment from pedestrian areas. Warehouses can also set up the system to restrict travel and lift functions or reduce speed to avoid stability issues.
